The greater the concentration of sulfuric acid, the more dense the electrolyte becomes. This high quality hydrometer includes a built in thermometer that indicates the correction factor - based on specific temperatures - that must be added or subtracted from the float reading to arrive at an accurate specific gravity reading for each battery cell.
